Notify Sounds uses Claude Code hooks and macOS afplay for local playback. It does not provide audible notifications on other platforms. Try the two sounds on this page to choose a comfortable volume before configuring the plugin.
Install from the marketplace
Add the Alsheddi marketplace in Claude Code, then install notify-sounds using the command below. Restart Claude Code or reload plugins to activate it. Adding the marketplace alone does not install every plugin in the collection.
Set a comfortable volume
Use the Notify Sounds configuration skill to inspect the supported preferences. Start with a modest volume, then test the completion and waiting events. The website preview volume controls only this browser sample; it does not change your installed plugin configuration.
Match notifications to your day
Configure quiet hours and event controls using the plugin’s documented settings. A completion sound tells you work has finished. A waiting sound tells you input may be needed. Keep only the signals that help your workflow, and check their behavior during a real session.
If you do not hear anything
Confirm you are on macOS, check system volume and the plugin’s enabled state, and inspect quiet hours. Verify the hooks were loaded after installation. Claude Code has no dedicated error hook; silence should not be interpreted as proof that the task succeeded.
